VOMITING & DIARRHOEA

If your pet has vomiting and diarrhoea, a change in diet may be advised by your veterinarian. If this persists for longer than 24 hours or you are in any way concerned because your pet is lethargic or dehydrated, please contact your veterinarian for an appointment.

First 24 hours
No food besides electrolyte solutions.

Next 2-3 days
Offer small amounts of a warmed bland diet several times per day. If this is accepted without further problems, gradually increase the amount of food offered. If your veterinarian has provided you with a bland diet, this should be offered; if not, it is acceptable to offer cooked white rice and cooked chicken with all skin and fat removed.

Next 3-4 days
If vomiting and diarrhoea has stopped, gradually change back to feeding it its normal diet.
