KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE AGAINST 1080

If you live near a 1080 drop site, it is recommended that you avoid the drop site altogether for a few months, but if this is not possible there are steps you can take to ensure the safety of your dog.

  • Keep your dogs under supervision at all times- don’t allow them to roam, especially in bush areas.

  • If you must walk your dog in or near the operational area, keep it on a leash and keep it well fed and hydrated.

  • Don’t let dogs scavenge carcasses on parkland or on any land close to the operational area.

  • Observe all signage and caution periods.

For up to date information on 1080 and its use visit the Auckland Council website.
