KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE AGAINST 1080
If you live near a 1080 drop site, it is recommended that you avoid the drop site altogether for a few months, but if this is not possible there are steps you can take to ensure the safety of your dog.
Keep your dogs under supervision at all times- don’t allow them to roam, especially in bush areas.
If you must walk your dog in or near the operational area, keep it on a leash and keep it well fed and hydrated.
Don’t let dogs scavenge carcasses on parkland or on any land close to the operational area.
Observe all signage and caution periods.
For up to date information on 1080 and its use visit the Auckland Council website.
